NEW E-BIKE THAT CONNECTS TO SMARTPHONE
If you visit China, you’ll find many Chinese people riding on a motorcycle-like vehicle. That is what we call E-bike or electronic bike. In my third year living in China, I just realized, when you are going somewhere by bus, 3 things will attract your eyes the most: 1. Luxury European Cars; 2. Smartphones; 3. Electronic Bike. People there like to ride their e-bike and as you know, China is the biggest smartphone market (moreover for Apple!).
So, compiling the facts, Xiaomi CEO decided to invest in cool e-bike that can connect to smartphones. “YunMake” the company that creates this ‘smart’ e-bike, radically designs smart bike that connects with an app. Let’s take a look!
Yunbike X1 at a Glance…
This is the regular e-bike that is usually used…
And…. This is the Yunbike X1, the ‘it’ smart bike that will connect with an app in smartphones…
This ‘it’ e-bike can be folded and very handy! The Yunbike X1 weighs 16kg and can hit 25km/h. It can go 25 kilometers on a single charge. It has a small LED readout screen, but for the full smart bike experience you’ll probably want to attach your smartphone and keep the Yunbike app open on it. The battery packs 36v/6.6AH and takes four hours to charge fully.
The Funding
Famous Chinese companies like ZhenFund, Foxconn and Shunwei Capital (VC firm by Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun), and even Qualcomm are named to be the series A investors. No wonder Xiaomi plays a big part in this funding! Xiaomi also produces smart health gadget such as Mi Band Fitness Bracelet, Air Purifier and other products.
Such an interesting innovation, right? But don’t forget to be careful and be safe along the way
